brandy melville look-alike pocket T

Ok, so recently I've been obsessed with Brandy Melville, but I simply CAN'T afford the prices! So I've been googling ways to DIY the styles, and I found some pretty cool ones. In this post,I'm going to show you how to make your own Pocket T-Shirt.

WHAT YOU NEED:
-scissors
-a cool-patterned fabric
-glue gun
-a plain t-shirt(not too precious)
-a piece of cardboard that is large but can still fit into your shirt

Ps: Sorry for the blurry pics, I took them with my iPod camera; and obviously,be careful when using scissors and a glue gun :)

1: When the glue gun's ready, glue a small strip along the first edge, making sure to leave room for the fold.

2: Take your finger and gently fold the fabric over onto the glue; firm enough to make it hold temporarily.

3: Push the side of the pen down fairly hard on the fold, sealing it in place.
Note: It doesn't matter if some of the glue comes out, you won't see this part anyway.

4: Repeat to the surrounding corners, leaving the bottom for last.

5: put on your t-shirt and mark where you want the pocket.
Note: Since this shirt shouldn't be washed after this DIY, you should mark the spot directly under where the pocket should be placed.

6: Glue around the edges, place firmly on the shirt, and you are done!

Hope it helped!

Favorites

Have you ever finished something tedious, then get the urge to do something you really love? that's me today. I just finished math and keyboarding courses for the day,so I'm text-blogging on my iPod(while listening to Deas Vail, 3 Shades of Blue, and Switchfoot, of course :). I don't know why blogging and going through/putting together outfits is so relaxing to me.i guess it's because they're both things I know I can do well, where as I struggle with math.
Anyway, after that little Heart-to-Heart, I saw so many cute Instagram/Pinterest pics this week, and wanted to show them to you :)

Inspirations from the Eras

Hey guys! So I've been seeing a lot of new trends surfacing lately, and most of them are from older eras(50's,70's,80's...etc.). I decided to show you my favorite vintage pieces and looks.

HEADS-UP: I don't own any of these pictures, they're from Pinterest.
HIPPIE SUNGLASSES

50's DRESSES

          60'S-70'S BOHO (REVISED)

So what are your favorite era-items?

Shoes

Hi you guys! I'm sitting here at a country club, and I'm SO bored! I'm waiting for my bro to get out of golf practice :) haha. Anyway, like any other teenage girl, I started thinking about clothes, accessories, and SHOES. I am most definitely a shoe-girl. And,even though I'm extremely busy(obvious sarcasm here, guys); I made some time to tell you about my favorite types of shoes, the best brands(in my opinion), and what to where with what type and when. So lets get started!

VANS...SORTA: Yes, these are knock-offs, but I LOVE them! These grey Madden Girl sneakers are the reason I haven't been living in sandals this summer. Also, I got them for super cheap at Ross, so they're a win-win. I do want to save up for a pair of real Vans, but something else always comes up(like those 6 beauty products I just HAD TO HAVE...hehehe).

HEELS: My favorite! I'm around 5'2, so I can get away with wearing from 6+ down to a 2 inch. Within the latest century, heels have gone from simple, dainty, and practical to crazy and out there as can be.here are some examples:

 ...Yes, that's a goldfish.
For really unique and special heels, i love Christian Louboutin's; and Madden Girl's my go-to for more everyday staples.

FLIP FLOPS: Honestly, I rarely wear these, partly because I don't like to show off my feet, and partly because of those sneakers :). When I DO wear sandals, however, it's usually to the pool or for a quick run to the store. I got these from Old Navy, which is my favorite brand for simple but beach-worthy flip flops.

COMBAT BOOTS: Ok,so mine aren't technically combat boots, but it's close enough. The brand's Dirty Laundry, and iv'e had them practically forever. The only downside for me it that they close closer to the heel, making it hard to wear with shorts. But they look fabulous with jeans, and I'll wear them till there's a hole on the sole.

FLATS: Basically flats are heels without the extra height. They go wonderfully with skinny jeans, skirts/dresses, and shorts. I just bought mine from Topshop, and they're so comfy I forget I'm wearing them!

Ok, so there's my guide to shoe basics. Hope it helped!

...And Purple Hair

everyone has that one thing they would do if they were brave enough, whether it's a tattoo, a strange new food, or even karaoke. my favorite is appearance-related: lilac hair. I'm not goth, but the gothic and punk looks intrigue me.I'm more of a bohemian, London-street-style type girl, but I'm always exploring other styles(which would explain the pictures of me in jeans, a traditional Mexican dancing dress, and crocs...we've all had those stages). I'm always looking up pictures of purple hair, saying that one day I will do it. I LOVE pastel hair, but sadly my tan skin tone limits me to the darker colors. but hey, a girl can dream, right?
here are some pics of my favorite crazily-colored do's:

HEADS-UP: I don't own any of these pictures; I got them from Pinterest :)

my favorite's Kelly Osburne's, and I'm starting to fall for the blue, silver-ish look as also. well,i guess "one day" will have till wait till art college(where people will think I'm "artsy" instead of "crazy"), or at least until the fall(when i turn pale again haha). what's your favorite color?

me

Hi everyone! I'm Ashton, and I love Jesus, fashion, music, and writing . I've always wanted to start a blog, but have been so busy I never had time. But since things are slowing down with summer, I decided to give it a shot. First, here are some things about me:

                                                 my favorite things:

favorite color: aqua

favorite band:i have WAY too many to pick even a few

favorite piece of clothing:*same*

favorite food: tofu. I don't consider my diet very "health conscious", but I love the stuff

favorite Bible verse: Isaiah 1:18

three more things: I love green tea(hence the name),I'm somewhat geeky when it comes to old books, early European monarchy, and real princesses, and if I could, i would live in heels.

these things are all facts you could probably live without, but I figured if I talked(typed?)enough, someone was bound to listen :). so,this is basically a blog where I can share helpful and sometimes useless knowledge, show my clothing creations, and just have fun. I hope you like it!
